(NEWS) Changing the Trash Plastic and Cloth Banner Advertising into Money

Jakarta - An interesting sights seen in the XS Project Office, Kaimun Jaya Street, Cilandak, South Jakarta, Sunday (6/7/2014). This non-profit foundation was born in 2002 and focuses on waste management of waste. More then 81 people are involved as an employee. They manage the plastic waste into an useful items that can be sold. The profit will donated to the children's education scavengers.

"These items are given and some of these items we bought it from the scavengers, in the store one pound of waste plastic is Rp 1.000-1.500, but in here we price it Rp 7.000 until Rp 9.000," Jupri said, Sunday (6/7/2014)

These goods are planed to be recycled into bag, laundry pouch and etc. "In Saturday and Sunday we are didn't work.We usually work in Monday until Friday," said Jupri.

To fill market needs, XS Project employee dozen of tailors. They are focuses on overseas sale. "even this product from the waste products, but this product have a long durability. Because this is plastic, it depends how to use it, maybe it can survive 5 years or 10 years," he said.

XS Project also recycle the banner. "for the banner we usually make it into laptop bag. we also have a management marketing and designer," he said.

Recycling & Reusing Used Items The Creative Way

The video conference with Dr.Leela have been giving us many ideas about reusing the used items around the house. The used items, are recycled, and we re-create / recycle it by our creativity.
I myself have learn a lot of things since that video conference day with Dr.Leela, she gave me thoughts and hopes in using my used items, and to explore our creativity by decorating it. Hoping more people to take their time to chill, relax, and make arts using these used items, it can be very useful and are cute as it's handmade! Here are some pictures of our creation of used items :

1.Paperbag
Rizaldi posing as a model for our recycled newspaper, it's a paperbag now!
This is very useful, you can use it to bring your stuffs, well as it's a paperbag!













2. Pouch
In this case, we use this handmade pouch (made by used cloth, sewed all night long) to carry a book.
Ofcourse you can use this pouch to carry other things such as glasses, stationary, money, etc!
It is very cute aswell!


3. Cute Box
Girls, we could use this handmade recycled box as a jewelry box, or pencil case.
Anything really, we could make it so colorful that it's very radical!
Here, we used it for the rubber band box, yknow girls' stuffs.
















4. Flower Pot
This flower pot is made using a used drinking bottle, we painted it so it looks so cheerful!

5. First Aid Kit
Now, this is first aid kit, we made this using an old shoe box. And now, voila! Ready to keep your medicines and instant to bring anywhere.

Testimonials Video Conferences with Doctor Leela (Diponegoro 1 Senior High School)


On Friday, 28th March 2014. Members of English Club Diponegoro 1 Senior High School especially for 10 graders and 11 graders are doing some good activity. What kind of activity did they do on Friday? They do a Video Conference with Doctor Leela. Doctor Leela give some tips for using an unused materials like news papers, unused cloth/sweeter and plastic bottles to be a used materials. She gave us some tricks for recycle our unused items into an useful items. And we have some Testimonials from 10 graders and 11 graders. Check it out!
  1. From Dita (10 Grader) : OMG, that practice has been showed me how to respect is really needed by the world even we just throw our dumps in the right place, or we do it in better way that is we can make any valuable stuff which is only by the plastics. So, we have not to dump it up.
  2. From Arman (11 Grader) : It was a great video conference, we learnt a lot of new thing, she taught us to recycle our unused items and make them into something useful, like a first aid kit box, flower vase, a pouch, a bag and many more, i'm looking forward on meeting with her again... :)
  3. From Suthasinie (11 Grader) : I had a wonderful experience learning how to reuse and remake the used items, all the ideas of reusing those used items are really helpful and useful for me, thank you!
